Beware of Phishing Attempts
- Beware of Phishing e-mails that look to be from any credit union, bank, the IRS or regulator such as FDIC or NCUA.
- Even if it does not seem suspicious, you should be suspicious if it asks for private information.
- Remember that Chelsea Employees FCU will never ask you for account numbers, passwords, debit card CVV2/CVC2 codes or your SSN by e-mail, text or phone.
- If our card processing fraud team suspects fraudulent transactions, they will only ask to verify recent transactions and will NOT ask you to provide them with any account or card information.
- Order your free credit report each year through www.annualcreditreport.com, and then review your report to make sure it accurate.
- Review your statements at least monthly to ensure that there are no unauthorized transactions.
- Sign up for the ALERT ME service through our web site, www.ChelseaEFCU.org. Through the Credit Union, this service is less than $5 a month. Other providers charge at least $15 a month for the same service.
Online Bill Pay
Don't forget to check out our BILL PAY feature in Virtual Branch. Features include: paying from multiple CU accounts; set-up recurring payments; pick your own pay date; and having e-bills delivered directly to your Virtual Branch. Another great feature is the Person-to-Person payments. With this, you can securely send and receive money online between your account and any other.
